(Port) Wine of the month October 2023: Alves de Sousa Vintage Port Amphitheatrum 2020

Welcome to the club of the limited edition Vintage Ports, dear Tiago. The AmphitheatruM is mostly vinified with grapes from the micro parcel Lordelo at Quinta da Gaivosa: Totally tight almost black colour with violet reflections. Some rustic notes in the palate with lots of liquorice and tobacco. Red berry fruit sets in after this with cherry, raspberry and cassis. Lots of balanced intensity on the palate with blueberry, cassis, chocolate and cherry. Ripe tannins and very good supporting acidity. Long, multy-layered aftertaste. 2.000 bottles. 19/20
